Replacing the glass on an iPhone 8 can be complex and requires careful handling. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:

Tools Needed:

  • Replacement glass
  • Pentalobe screwdriver
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Heat gun or hair dryer
  • Plastic prying tools
  • Suction cup
  • Adhesive strips
  • Anti-static gloves (optional)

Steps to Replace iPhone 8 Glass:

  1. Power Off the iPhone
Turn off the device to avoid short circuits.
  2. Remove Screws
Use a pentalobe screwdriver to remove the two screws near the charging port.
  3. Heat the Edges
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive around the screen edges.
  4. Lift the Screen
Attach a suction cup near the bottom of the screen, gently pull up, and use a plastic prying tool to carefully loosen the adhesive.
  5. Disconnect Cables
Carefully lift the screen and disconnect the battery and display cables using a Phillips screwdriver to remove the bracket covering them.
  6. Remove the Broken Glass
Once the display is free, gently separate the broken glass from the display assembly. This step may require heating and scraping carefully.
  7. Attach the New Glass
Secure the replacement glass onto the display assembly using adhesive strips.
  8. Reconnect Components
Reconnect the display and battery cables, ensuring a snug fit.
  9. Reassemble the iPhone
Align the display, press it back into place, and replace the screws at the bottom.
  10. Test Your Phone
Power on your device and ensure the touch screen and display work correctly.

Important Tips:

  • Consider Professional Repair: If you're not experienced with electronics, replacing the glass yourself may cause further damage.
  • Use Quality Parts: Always opt for OEM or high-quality third-party parts.
  • Warranty Check: Check if your phone is still under warranty or AppleCare+ for repair discounts.
