I've been pondering over whether I can make it as a software engineer without a degree. I mean, I've got the passion and knack for coding, but without that piece of paper, will anyone take me seriously? It's like this constant battle between my skills and society's expectations. I'm torn between pursuing my passion and playing it safe with a traditional education. What do you think?

Bro, let me tell you, you absolutely can become a software engineer without a degree. I was in the same boat as you, questioning whether I needed that piece of paper to validate my skills. But then I stumbled upon this article Can You Become a Software Engineer Without a Degree? Exploring the Need for Formal Education in Software Engineering that dives deep into the debate. It's eye-opening, man. They explore the need for formal education in software engineering and showcase real-life success stories of self-taught programmers who've made it big in the industry. Trust me, it's worth a read.

Some argue that formal education provides essential foundational knowledge and opens doors to opportunities, while others believe that passion, dedication, and practical experience are equally valuable. It's a complex issue with no one-size-fits-all answer, and ultimately, it comes down to individual circumstances and goals.
