Here’s how to fix the iOS 17 Could Not Activate iPhone Activation Error right after installing the update on your compatible iPhone device.

After months of betas Apple has now released iOS 17 to the public which means more people than ever can now take it for a spin. That also means that people are now trying to install the update on their iPhones all around the world — but that also means that some people are experiencing issues, unfortunately.

For those people there is an array of potential issues with some receiving an error that says Could Not Activate iPhone Activation Error. The error normally appears after trying to install an update via Finder or iTunes and these are some of the steps you can take to try and get things working again.

Restart Your Router

This issue is usually caused when there is some kind of connection issue, so consider restarting your router to see if that kicks things back into gear. If the issue is a connectivity one, this could get things back up and running.
Wait It Out

If the issue isn’t fixed by restarting your router the issue is likely to be at Apple’s side, possibly due to overloaded servers. If that’s the case, hang fire — things should start working eventually. These kinds of problems normally fix themselves if you give them the chance to.
