Following a weeks-long beta process, Apple has now officially made iOS 18.4 available for download which means you can install it at home. The update is available via OTA downloads as well as manual IPSW file installation.
Assuming that you have a compatible iPhone or iPad, updating using the OTA method couldn’t be easier. Just go to Settings > General > Software Update to download and install the new version. If you don’t see it just yet, we suggest trying again later. Alternatively, all of the links for Apple’s current hardware can be found below which can be installed using iTunes on Windows or Finder on Mac.
This new update brings with it a number of improvements, including to Apple Intelligence. The main addition is support for Priority Notifications as well as a new Image Playground style, while an Ambient Music feature has been added to Control Center. New emojis and an Apple Vision Pro app are also included, among other smaller tweaks.
Beyond that, Apple is rumored to be working on big updates to the iPhone, iPad, and Mac software that will be unveiled in June before being released to the public in September.
