Apple has today released the new iOS 8.4 beta 3 to developers, giving them an update to put through its paces ahead of an expected launch within the next few weeks.
The new update will also likely be made available to those who are running the public beta imminently, but it’s currently too soon to confirm what has changed in this particular beta.
As for when the iOS 18.4 update is rolled out to the world proper, there are a few improvements that iPhone owners can look forward to.
At the top of that list is the addition of a new feature for iPhone 15 Pro owners. The Visual Intelligence feature was previously limited to the new iPhone 16 models, but now it is also going to be offered to those who are running an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The feature is part of Apple Intelligence and can be used to get information on whatever the iPhone’s camera is looking at.
Another improvement is support for new emojis that can be used on all compatible devices, while changes to CarPlay’s design on big displays are also present. Apple Intelligence fans will notice a new Priority Notifications option while Apple News+ also gains a new section designed to offer recipes and more.
It’s as-yet unconfirmed when we can expect the final release, but we will likely see multiple new betas ahead of a launch around April time
